When I started planning my honeymoon, the tiny island of Madeira caught my attention – it’s part of Portugal, and up until recently, it had been a hidden gem for older British travelers. Often coined as the “Hawaii of Europe,” Madeira boasts perfect weather, fantastic food, and a ridiculously diverse terrain that blew my mind almost as much as my first visit to Iceland.

After reaching out to the marketing team at the Savoy Palace, I was received with the utmost enthusiasm – and even met up with my main point of contact while we were in Madeira! The Savoy Palace was hands-down, one of the most incredible places I’ve ever visited, let alone been able to photograph. From the beautiful interior design, to the views from every window — and the food, oh the food! We felt guilty not exploring more of the island, but it was so damn difficult to leave the Savoy Palace’s little slice of heaven.
